The Driver Emergency Alert Notification System
Developed by the TNCRadio.LIVE team, the “Driver Emergency Alert Notification System” (DEANS) is designed to allow drivers who are out on the road to receive notification about information that could impact their safety and/or timing.
The system is currently in BETA testing and may or may not be a permanent fixture of the app.
Those who have downloaded the TNCRadio.LIVE app and allow notification on their device for that app, should receive remote notification when there has been a serious emergency that might impact the drivers of Houston.
When the Alert system is activated by the TNCRadio.LIVE on-air producer, the app should notify the users that an emergency has taken place. When it is safe to do so, the app user should tune into TNCRadio.LIVE to receive an update on the emergency.
It should take about 30 seconds between the time that DEANS has been activated and the first announcement regarding the emergency is made on-air
Types of Emergencies:
• Major freeway closures that are expected to last in excess of one hour.
• Amber, Silver and other alerts that directly impact the Houston area
• Weather warnings (Thunderstorm, Tornado, Flooding, Hurricane)
• Weather watches (Hurricane only)
• Other unforeseen emergencies that the producers believe warrant the attention of the TNCRadio.LIVE community
Disclaimer: It is assumed this system will be activated, on average 5-10 times a month depending on factors beyond the control of TNCRadio.LIVE
Under no circumstances is TNCRadio.LIVE obligated or required to make any announcement regarding any conditions and provides ALL services on an “as-is” basis. Nor is TNCRadio.LIVE responsible for any user who uses any device application in an inappropriate or irresponsible manner.
This widget of the app is in “Beta mode” and may or may not be a long-term asset of the station.
